GLASSBODY

New exhibition “GLASS BODY”: a synthesis of fashion and artistic glass in the work of Laura and Viktoras Dailidėnas

2025 LDS Gallery Vokiečių g. 2, Vilnius

Creators Viktoras Dailidėnas and LAURA DAILI present a new joint exhibition “GLASS BODY”, opening a dialogue between glass sculpture, fashion design and the forms of the human body. This is an exhibition in which fine art merges with applied art, and the sculptural properties of materials become the main artistic language.

“GLASS BODY” immerses the visitor in a space permeated with transparency, light refraction and glassiness. The exhibition reveals unexpected combinations: glass, usually perceived as fragile and static, here acquires organicity and movement, and the garment becomes a sculptural form reminiscent of frozen light or crystallized movement.

Inspired by figures, characters and the properties of the material itself. In this exhibition, real and mythologized faces, body fragments and silhouettes emerge as if from fragments of memory — sometimes stylized, sometimes hyperreal.

Viktoras Dailidėnas’ glass works are characterized by characteristic plasticity: the material is bent and shaped like a fabric, acquiring an organic illusion of movement. Meanwhile, Laura Dailidėnienė uses translucent, clear and shiny textures in her fashion works, which bring the garment closer to a sculpture — as if the worn form reflects light in the same way that hand-cast glass does.

Designer Laura Dailidėnienė is particularly fascinated by the aesthetics of transparency. For her, glass becomes not only a decorative detail, but also a source of inspiration that shapes the silhouettes, structure and even creative philosophy of the clothes. The exhibition features several pieces of clothing and accessories from the designer’s latest “Glass Poem” collection.
